Thursday, August 15 (Vacay Day 1)
Today we went to The Dells (Northern Wisconsin) for a vacation. We stayed in Cabin BC 11. We played in the waterpark a lot. At night we roasted marshmallows. Bye now.
Friday, August 16 (Vacay Day 2)
When we woke up, we had breakfast at our cabin. Then we went on a Duck Tour in town. (A duck is an army boat that goes on land and water.) For lunch, we went to a Mongolian grill called Hu Hot. It was delicious. I love Asian. Then we went to a Ripley's Museum. It was awesome! I got to see a fake coffin with a fake vampire inside. But night was the funnest! We went to a real play! We ate dinner there and saw the smash hit play Mamma Mia! The actors and actresses were very good.
Saturday, August 17 (Vacay Day 3)
The next day, we swam a little more. Then we went home!

Fairy Garden Scene
Today at school, I looked in a book (Farmer's Almanac for Kids, Vol.7, "Welcome Fairies!", pp. 72-77) of how to make a fairy garden scene. Then I thought it was so much fun that I wanted to make a fairy house right now! I drew this picture:
In the picture there are fairies, water coming from a birdbath, a tree stump for a fairy house, a butterfly and bird, and a little table with a cupcake and a bowl of two cherries. There is also a ladder coming from a window in the fairy house.

A Story: "The Undead: A Blood-Curdling Book"
(The bat is the "surprise.")
The Undead: A
Blood-Curdling Book
It
was the middle of the night. Someone was
selling candy. He was almost done when
he came upon a castle. He was curious. He snuck up to the door and opened it.
It
was not long before he came to some coffins.
He leaped in surprise, then....
“I
vow to suck your blood,” said a voice.
A
coffin swung open.... A horrible
creature with long white fangs jumped out.
He ran for his life, but he could not run any farther.
“No
no no! Please, no! No!
NO! NO!”
The
blood-sucker bit the man’s neck. It
splattered with blood. He became a vampire.
The
next morning people heard the story and returned to the castle with stakes and
mallets. But the men did not make
it. But someone did.
He
held his stake close to the vampire’s heart.
He hammered the mallet. Crack! How the vampire screamed and howled, but it
was too late.
He
was dead.

Special Guest Post: "SPACE HERO"
SPACE HERO
by
Martin Popp
Our story
begins in space, in a galaxy far away. Once upon a time there was an alien
named Jack. He was a very smart alien.
One day, he
looked outside his spacecraft window and saw a Space Ghost. He ran as fast as
his legs could carry him to warn all of the other aliens that they would be
attacked.
No one
believed him. They just laughed and said, “The ghosts are long gone from here.”
Jack said,
“Look out the window! They're right outside!”
“Fine, but
if they aren't, you owe me a soda!” said the head alien.
So they
went to the window and looked outside. But no ghosts were there.
“But— but—
but they were there a minute ago!” said Jack.
“Well, they
aren't there anymore!” said the head alien.
That night
when everyone was asleep, except for Jack, he could hear strange noises coming
from the hall.
“Whooooooooo-ooooo-oooo,”
moaned a sound like a ghost.
Jack got so
afraid that he jumped up and hit his head on the ceiling. “Ouch!”
He decided
to get up and look around. While doing so, he walked down the hall. He went
around the corner and there it was! The ghost was right there.
Jack knew
he saw him but no one believed him.
He got out
his ghost capturing ray and sucked the ghost up.
In the
morning, he showed everyone the captured ghost. “These are the ghosts that I
saw but no one believed me. So here they are!” said Jack.
Everyone
started to cheer because Jack saved them from the ghost.
But wait .
. . there was another noise from the hall.
Jack went
over to the door and opened it slowly.
Then,
ghosts started coming in—thousands of them were coming in! Everyone started
running out of the room.
Next, Jack
yelled into a microphone and said, “Stop! I have a plan. Meet me in the hall
and lock the door behind you.”
Jack ran
into the hall and locked the door. “Everyone get buckets full of water and
throw them at the ghosts to turn them into slime.”
Everyone
listened and started throwing the buckets of water at the ghosts. This turned
them instantly into slime.
When all of
the ghosts were gone, everyone cheered for Jack because he had saved them from
the ghosts.
